Dr. Blazina has more than 25 years experience in psychotherapy for adults and couples, specializing in men’s issues, bereavement/loss and other concerns. In addition to his recent private practice in Las Cruces, he taught in the doctoral counseling program at New Mexico State University and directed the NMSU Mental Health & Wellness Clinic. An award-winning author, he has written extensively on men’s emotional health in both articles and books. His most recent book is When Man Meets Dog (Hubble & Hattie, 2016), which explores how bonds with dogs can create unique intimacies and healing for men. Dr. Blazina has been quoted in publications such as Men’s Journal Magazine, Women’s Health, and Huffington Post, and has been a guest on more than 40 radio programs across the U.S. and Canada. Beginning in late November, he will offer individual and couples therapy at Life Change, and facilitate men’s groups on dealing with grief/loss of a pet.
