Welcome to our guided meditation page.
Enjoy these rejuvenating HeartMath tools to regulate your mind, body, and soul.
The videos listed below are guided relaxation exercises created by the HeartMath Institute. Founded in 1991 by Doc Childre, HeartMath has long been used in therapy practices across the nation. Its goal is to help you link your brain to your heart, which can help you understand and regulate your emotions and perceptions.
HeartMath synchronizes your heart and brain’s connection with your other physiological systems, such as the nervous and circulatory systems. It can ease you into a steady heart rhythm, reducing strain and making it more possible to achieve happiness and satisfaction in life. Within a few weeks–and practicing patiently about five minutes a day–you may notice sharper mental focus, increased resilience, and fewer stressful emotions. In fact, research indicates HeartMath can improve your focus by 24% and reduce worries by 46%.
The first YouTube link below contains a Coherence Coach tutorial from HeartMath Institute that will lead you through the three stages of HeartMath: Heart Focus, Heart Breathing, and Heart Feeling. Then, it moves on to two guided meditations that give you the opportunity to try achieving those stages on your own. (Choose the slower paced tutorial or a medium-paced version, based on your preference.)
Don’t skip the tutorial. Start by focusing your attention on your heart. Do you feel sad or anxious? Do you feel like your heart is heavy? Acknowledge those feelings. Let your body relax and imagine melting into the floor. Breathe in and out at a consistent pace that is comfortable for you. The tutorial will show a ball moving on a curving line. Inhale as the ball rises and exhale as it falls down a curve. In order to stay at a high coherence level, i.e. a consistent breathing pace, you need to feel a positive emotion or think about something that makes you happy. This can be gratefulness for someone you love or appreciation for some aspect of your life. We hope that at the end of this video, you will learn how to deepen your sense of mental wellbeing.
