We’re looking for a therapist who is ready to make Life Change Psychotherapy their long-term career home.
Our group psychotherapy practice in Albuquerque, NM, has an opening for an independently licensed practitioner experienced in working with adults, and interested in Emotionally Therapy and International Family Systems. Here’s how our unique opportunity stacks up:
- Work 3-5 days per week (Saturdays optional; differential pay available). Some evenings an option.
- Motivated adult individual clients and couples—15 to 25 client hours per week.
- No fast-track pacing here. Work with your clients as long as it is productive.
- Empathic, heart-focused relational style of therapy.
- Therapeutic styles include: Emotionally Focused Therapy, Humanistic, Internal Family Systems, AEDP, Depth Psychotherapy and Existential Modalities.
- Sessions mostly in-person, but an online platform is available.
- Beautiful offices in a relaxed, peaceful setting.
- Funding for professional development and training, including in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
- Our work culture is focused on growth and success, with a balance of autonomy and community.
- We are a closely integrated clinical team, meeting weekly for supportive case consultation.
- $68 – $95 per hour
- Quarterly productivity bonus.
Our independent contractor opening is available July 1, 2025. Independent NM license and malpractice insurance are required. Compensation is competitive and based upon caseload. Our strong support staff provides many administrative services, including billing, credentialing, scheduling and marketing.
A little about us
This year, Life Change Psychotherapy Institute celebrates its 30-year anniversary as one of the oldest independent, free-standing mental health centers in New Mexico. Much of this longevity stems from the collegial environment created by our dedicated staff and self-motivated clients. Practicing in isolation can be stressful; we value the richness of processing client care within our “case consultation circle.” We spend one to three hours per week in clinical discussion. This connectedness reduces burn-out and increases personal/professional fulfillment. We also enjoy celebrating together, and laughing a lot.
In addition to our work with couples, groups and individuals, Life Change Psychotherapy Institute offers intensive couples retreats based on Emotionally Focused Therapy.
