Our couples therapy focuses on the role of emotions within your relationship. Feelings of the heart can be dramatic and tumultuous. Your therapist will provide a safe, egalitarian environment so that each of you can explore why you may be negatively reacting, rather than expressing what you are truly longing for from your partner. Our therapists primarily use a method called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) developed by world renowned therapist, researcher and trainer Dr. Sue Johnson.
With this therapeutic approach, couples can learn how to successfully express and receive the loving connection they desire.
You will learn how to be “relationship detectives,” teaming up with your mate to catch unhealthy patterns that keep you from having the intimate, fulfilling relationship that you long for.
This style of therapy does not yield a diagnosis, which is required for insurance billing. Therefore, we offer couples work on a fee-for-service basis only. Learn more about our EFT couples therapy program here.
