As a Licensed Clinical Counselor, Kristin believes in the importance of the therapeutic relationship, a relationship of mutual respect which ideally nurtures an alliance of trust, safety and willingness to explore the territory of our lives.
She strives to be empathetic and supportive of each individual’s life experience with a deep conviction that we each possess the innate ability to make progress and find more contentment, harmony and appreciation in our lives. Within the delicate aura of trust, she encourages her clients to meet themselves with a fresh perspective of understanding and compassion for the depth of their loss, suffering or dilemma.
She believes that as we navigate the journey of our lives, we sometimes encounter emotional obstacles that can block or hinder our progress, and attempts to move forward using our current perspectives and coping strategies may not allow us to overcome or move through these roadblocks, thus creating emotional discord within. Her approach is to help foster an awareness of our own potential to have a more fulfilling experience of ourselves and in our relationships with others.
Kristin believes that emotional honesty and skillful communication with ourselves and with others can often serve as a gateway or bridge to a fresh, enlivened experience with ourselves, our partner and our world.
