Michelle Cutrer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, working under the supervision of Dr. Tricia McKenna. Michelle is dedicated to helping clients find their way past difficult life experiences and towards a more satisfying and fulfilling life. She is also passionate about helping couples to find the secure emotional connection and bond they long for.
Michelle’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, compassionate, strengths-based and non-pathologizing. She draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), neuroscience-informed approaches, mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and inner parts work informed by Internal Family Systems. Her goal is to create a safe, caring, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their inner lives, gain insight, recognize their strengths, and move towards a greater sense of wholeness and well-being.
She brings rich life experience to her work as a therapist, including from her prior career as an attorney, work with refugees and asylum seekers, years teaching, and time spent abroad. As a therapist, she has worked with people of all ages and from many different backgrounds in family counseling and community mental health settings. She also speaks Spanish and French.
