Nikki is a Licensed Professional Clinical Mental Health Counselor with more than 20 years’ experience counseling individuals and couples. She focuses on helping clients remove obstacles in their life that keep them from connecting with others or engaging in the world in a fulfilling way. Her therapeutic approach is based on concepts from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Internal Family Systems (IFS) Model and other evidence-based modalities. Using EFT, Nikki helps clients build secure and vibrant connections rooted in healthy attachment. She has extensive training in EFT, and is a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). With IFS, she guides clients in understanding their inner “parts” to navigate reactive, adaptive and withdrawing moments.
She is known for her caring, compassionate approach, and draws upon reflection, validation, empathy, metaphor and problem-solving to help clients understand and transform negative patterns in their lives and relationships. She has worked in many settings, including adoption, ecclesiastical and school-related locales. Her work has also drawn from sand tray, play and art therapy modalities. Nikki’s passion for empowering individuals and couples to achieve fulfilling lives is evident in her strong connections and commitment to her clients.
